Requirements
- Pass the skills test for the field and a Japanese test (JFT-Basic or JLPT N4 or higher). Care also requires the Care Japanese Language Evaluation Test.
- If you completed Technical Intern Training (ii) in a related job, the tests may be waived.
- You can only work in the field whose test you passed. To change fields, you must pass that field's test.
- SSW (i) allows a total stay of up to 5 years. In fields with SSW (ii), you can renew without limit and live with your family.
Notes
- There is no SSW (ii) for care. If you pass the national Certified Care Worker exam, you can change to the "Care" visa.
- Home-visit care is allowed only when certain conditions are met.
